Lampasas Texas Wildflowers

My wife and I went up to the place this week to work and by the time we arrived it was raining.  Rain is always welcome so we spent the day working in the barn on inside projects.  It stopped raining for a little while after we ate lunch so we decided to take the dog and go check out the water troughs and feeders.  I took some shots of all the many beautiful wildflowers and thought you guys might enjoy them.  I also included a few game camera shots for your pleasure.  Get out and enjoy the flowers before they are gone for this year.  Wild Ed

As a fifth generation native Texan I am still blown away by the beauty of the Hill Country of this magnificent state! It's my favorite place on this earth. Thanks so much for sharing these great pictures of those Texas wildflowers.

Wayne it is amazing what a little rain will bring out. Last year in the drought you would have thought this place was desert and would never see a bloom again. We did lose a lot of trees but the land will recover. We will be planting trees for the future generations and orderd some more Texas wildflower seeds to restore what did not come back this year. We are working to remove cedar and salt cedar along with some exotic plants that do not belong here and suck up the water. We hope to restore it to its native beauty someday. Ed

Glad to see you're finally getting some much needed rain up there. The pics are beautiful!

Keep working on making it all native. I think that's what will make all the difference in the world.
